Hi all,

I just wanted to let everyone know that our daughter Heather has had a new baby girl.  Her name is Emmalee Grace Clarke and she’s pretty cool.  This is our second grandchild.  My wife Dixie is down in Jacksonville helping out and I stopped by on the way out from a corporate gig in Savannah over the weekend.  I had to leave for another show last night in Atlanta so I did not get to stay for our anniversary which was yesterday (tuesday the 7th) but we did go out to eat in Jax on Monday night.  Dixie will still be staying down there for another 10 days or so to help out and I really miss her when she’s gone.

I’m traveling more and more these days and have another tour in Alabama for May so if you know of some good venues that need some great entertainment in Alabama, just let me know.

Have a great week!!

Flim Flam alert!

This goes out to all my pubic blogs. I’ve just come across a new public internet scam to watch out for. The scam looks like this. A very official email tells you to look at your account and that your password may be compromised. Now it doesn’t matter what account you have these folk take the artwork and logos from the legitimate site and paste them into these emails so they look authentic. Popular site scammers are from Ebay, Your credit card company, your utility company, and your bank. Adware tracks your site visits and you are paired with matching scammer sites so the emails they send out looks like something you may have signed up for or have an account with. If you look in the email at the links and hover over the link (don’t click it!!!) you can see where the link is headed. If it’s not a destination you know then beware.

For instance, I recently got an email from Ebay and paypal asking about activity on my account and that I needed to log in and verify my password and account settings. I looked at the link they provided and the link went not to Ebay or paypal but to some .edu website. Some students in a northern college had a scam that they sent these emails fishing for passwords. The link they provide goes to a fake Ebay site that collects your information and they can access you accounts. This type of scam is called PHISHING. Like fishing for info.

Real companies like Ebay don’t do this. These institutions don’t contact people and ask for your personal info. They have it. You registered with them.

If this happens to you send the email (forward) to the phishing division (yes they will have one) at the real company. They probably have a lot of other people reporting the same thing.

Stay safe and have a great week.

Dave
